This is how to download Youtube thumbs at there max resolution quickly and easily!
Just today Facebook updated their video uploading system so that you can include a thumbnail for the video. I happen to have a few videos sitting around waiting to be uploaded, but without their thumbnails, because I thought I didn’t need them.
This lead me to want to know how to download the thumbnails from Youtube, so I didn’t have to recreate them, screen cap them, or get a low quality copy in some other round-about way.
Here is how to get the Maximum resolution thumb nail image for videos in 720p, 1080p or higher.
First find the wanted video’s ID
Every main video page for youtube videos has a unique URL. The video ID is the bold set of characters below, the set after the equals sign. You will want to copy that set of characters.
How to see the image
Next, copy the text below and replace the VIDEOID with your videos ID.
It should look like this using the video ID from above.
Other Resolutions / Sizes
There is really only one other useful size and that is the small. Follow the same process of replacing the VIDEOID with you video’s.
