In this short tutorial I am going to show you how to reduce instrument and preset load times for your favorite Kontakt Player Instruments!
Kontakt is an incredible VSTi and some of the instruments that are available for it are other worldly! Though some of the larger libraries can be upwards of 10 gigs of audio files!
If you have ever downloaded and installed a fresh library you might have noticed it can take quite a bit of time to initialize and then even more time when cycling through presets or configurements.
By doing on simple thing for each of your libraries you can reduce that load time noticeably.
It’s called “Batch re-save”. It can be found in the disc shaped icon’s menu.
After you select batch re-save you will get this warning message. Save your patch, if you were working on one, otherwise hit “Yes”.
When you run a batch re-save the Kontakt player essentially scans the entire library and notes all the references (path ways) to the samples and assets of the instrument.
That way, when you go to load the instrument or a preset the pathway is already laid out and there is less work to do!
