This is where the presets are located when using Softube’s Modular in Ableton Live.
*This is how to find all presets for Softube Plugs in Ableton Live!
I just got started with Softtube’s Modolar. Which is a cross-platform modular synthesizer plug-in. Featuring authorized emulations of modules from well known hardware Eurorack brands.
Check out Modular — PIB/Modular
As you might imagine it isn’t exactly newbee friendly. You need to know quite a lot to even get sound coming out of the system, never mind a good sound. That doesn’t bother me. I love a challenge.
One way that I like to learn new systems is to deconstruct and re engineer professionally made presets.
However, looking at the GUI (user interface) when I launched Modular as a VSTi in Ableton Live I couldn’t find how to load those, even though I knew that Modular came with quite a few preset patches.
I looked online quickly and only found this bit of FAQ on Softube’s website
Ableton Live 9: Plug-in presets not working.
Ableton Live 9 users have reported that plug-in presets are not available when using the Audio Units version of a plug-in. Ableton Live 9 does not support presets in the Audio Units version of plug-ins, so this is not specific for Softube’s plug-ins.
Workaround: Load the plug-in in its VST version.
But, that still didn’t help, as I was loading the VST version. Then it hit me. I needed to look on the device holder in the device strip. BLAM-O!! All the presets!!
